What we do

What this work involves

Loose stones, worn joints and shifting steps can point to different underlying problems. We look at the condition on site first, then discuss which areas can be repaired and whether more substantial work is needed.

  • On-site condition review
  • Loose or damaged stone
  • Joint and surface repairs
  • Steps and wall sections
  • Drainage observations
  • Repair versus replacement options

Project planning

Defining the right scope

Describe loose stones, open joints, damaged surfaces or shifting sections, and show the surrounding feature as well as the visible defect. A localized repair and rebuilding a deteriorated section have different scopes. Matching existing materials can be an important part of the discussion.

Preparation & site considerations

The condition beneath the surface and the cause of movement need review. Water exposure, drainage and support may affect whether a repair is appropriate. We discuss repair versus replacement after assessing the site rather than promising that every failing feature can be patched.
