Project planning
Defining the right scope
Decide how you want to use the basement: an office, recreation area, storage or another living space. Ceiling height, existing utilities, access and natural light affect the layout. Photos help start the conversation, but they cannot establish whether a basement is suitable for the intended use.
Preparation & site considerations
Moisture concerns should be identified before covering walls or laying a floor. Egress, ventilation, permits and any requirements for a proposed bedroom need separate review. We discuss framing, insulation, ceilings and finishes in relation to these conditions rather than treating every basement as the same project.
